Sifnos Events

Once you arrive at Sifnos, be sure that your experiences on this lively island will be truly unforgettable. Various feasts outside of small churches, cultural events, and celebrations take place every year and exhilarate residents, visitors, and travelers all over the island.

One of the most significant feasts of Sifnos is the celebration of Panagia Chryssopigi. Panagia Chryssopigi is the protector of Sifnos, and the residents honor her after the Easter holidays. Another great feast is on the 15th of August, the celebration day of the Virgin Mary. On this day, the festivities in churches and monasteries are devoted to the Virgin Mary.

In September, Sifnos celebrates in honor of Nikolaos Tselementes (a famous Greek chef who was from Sifnos). People are gathered together, and they start cooking traditional dishes from all the Greek regions.
